What are dental implants?

Dental implants are a strong, comfortable, permanent and extremely realistic way of replacing missing teeth.

A dental implant is a titanium screw, which is surgically placed into the jaw by our specialist surgeon, this then integrates into the bone and becomes as one, the a tooth is then screwed into the implant, which can be used to support one or more teeth.

What are the main benefits of teeth implants?

  • In most cases our dental implants can restore complete functionality.
  • They can dramatically change how you feel about you smile for the rest of your life. Dental implants keep your jaw strong and youthful looking.
  • Implants can be used to replace full dentures which slip and slide about your mouth, and falling out at the most embarrassing moments.
  • By having implants you can clip in a denture or have it screwed into place which removes all the diet restrictions you once faced and restores your facial profile and your confidence.

How much do implants cost?

We have ensured our dental implant prices are extremely competitive when compared to other dentists around Guildford.

Our implant prices per tooth (including implant and crown) therefore start from £2,500. Please see our dental fees page for further information.

Is the treatment painful?

Although each patients interaction is different, most say they feel little or no discomfort. Those who felt some pain say there was less discomfort than they expected.

During the surgical procedure (which involves an incision in your gums) your dentist will give you an anesthetic to numb your month - this will help minimise any discomfort you may feel.

By following the dentist instructions on how to look after your teeth following the implant procedure and taking the required antibiotics, there will be minimal discomfort.

Our patients are all given pain medications post treatment, but many report that they don't actually need them and most return to work the same day.
